Creams and How to Apply Them

Eye creams are specially formulated to help treat the unique concerns of the eye area. Since the skin on your face is different from the skin around your eyes, facial moisturizers alone may not always be appropriate.

To apply eye creams, apply a small amount to the tip of one of your ring fingers, then transfer half the product to your opposite ring finger. (With Dermalogica, the amount needed is about the size of a grain of rice for each eye). The ring fingers are used because they are less likely to pull or tug on the delicate eye tissue. Dab product gently around the eyes covering the entire bony orbit and out into the "crow's feet". There is no need to apply the cream inside the orbital area because the warmth of your skin causes creams to "migrate." Applying product too close to the eyes may cause puffiness. Pat repeatedly and very gently around the eye orbit to ensure that the cream is evenly spread and absorbed.
